Laying on of Hands

Tomorrow there will be laying on of hands. Young ministers seeking to follow God's will and Bible teaching. A denominational formality, yes, but deeper than that a symbol of a true experience: The Holy Spirit filling one's life.

I do believe that laying on of hands is not a prerequisite to fulfilling God's purpose. Yet the opportunity has been opened. So my prayer is that once again The Holy Spirit will infuse my life. I'm not seeking so much a charismatic experience as I am seeking another assurance that whether or not people agree, whether or not it is formalized- The Holy Spirit continually seeks a residence in me.

I know that this temple is not always nicely furnished and frequently needs a spring clean. I'm aware that my abilities and gifts do not even come close to meeting the need if God is not the enabling power behind me. So tomorrow as laying on of hands takes place my only prayer is that God would use the symbolism to remind me of the greater reality- HIS AMAZING HOLY SPIRIT.
