Living Word
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us...
If you really want to believe a statement, you would have to see it with your own eyes, hear it with your own ears, smell it with your own nose, taste it with your own mouth, touch it with your own hand...experience it.
That's how I feel about the sermon coming up. I wanna be there, be a part of the experience, I want to know that deep down the Word has become flesh and is dwelling in me, okay not literally (for all you literary critics out there) but figuratively...if I speak it then I should mean it, right?
So much for aloof sayings, deep theological meanings, distant references to the divine...the Word has, is and will become flesh and dwell in me, I must believe that because its really the only way that others will believe what I say.
Yeah it's pressure! Who doesn't get a little moisture on their foreheads when standing in front of peers and teachers, the awkward silence of the classroom as students struggle to find the balance between support and criticism? But the greatest pressure for me is this:
The Word becoming flesh and dwelling...words are words but words become words when they are seated in the soul of the one speaking them. That's my aim and my prayer as the time approaches and dear God I know you are listening so...
Let your Word become flesh and dwell in me,
Everything that is contained in them is waiting to be revealed,
In your time, in your way, that's all I pray...
Okay, i think I'm ready now to get my sleep on!! Night Night!!
